Soothe Medical is Now Offering Weight Loss Injections

After extensive research, we have decided to offer Tirzepatide injections. We were hearing from too many patients that they were not getting the personalized care they desired or their health insurance did not cover it and the cost was upwards of $1100 monthly.
Obesity currently affects four out of 10 Americans, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). While weight and overall health aren’t always connected, obesity is often considered a cause of multiple comorbid and chronic medical conditions, including type 2 diabetes, some forms of cancer and heart disease.

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide is once-weekly injectable dual glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonist. It works by increasing insulin production and lowers glucagon secretion as well as targeting areas in the brain that regulate appetite and food intake. A small change in the molecule allows the drug to last weeks in our bodies rather than the natural version our bodies make, which lasts minutes.

How Does Tirzepatide Work?

Tirzepatide acts in the following ways:
  • Delays how quickly our stomachs digest food. Leading to a feeling of fullness and satisfaction with smaller meal sizes.
  • Slows intestinal motility so you will feel fuller longer after meals.
  • Dual action receptor allows for lower blood sugars, in part by reducing the production of sugar in the liver.
  • Stimulates insulin secretion by the pancreas.
  • GIP increases energy expenditure, resulting in weight loss reductions.
Our  tirzepatide is compounded by a reputable US pharmacy with both B12 and glycine, an amino acid which helps prevent muscle wasting.

What Is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is another drug used for diabetes and weight loss, similar to tirzepatide. It’s administered once a week and is most effective when combined with lifestyle changes like improved diet and increased exercise.

Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus. As a GLP-1 agonist, it works by decreasing glucagon release, increasing insulin release, delaying stomach emptying, and suppressing appetite.

Wegovy is an injection approved to help adults and children aged 12 and older who are obese, or adults who are overweight with weight-related medical issues, to lose and maintain their weight.

Ozempic is an injection prescribed for people with diabetes who also have cardiovascular disease. It helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks or strokes. Rybelsus, on the other hand, is a tablet taken once daily to lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.

How Does Semaglutide Work?

While tirzepatide targets both the GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonists, semaglutide specifically mimics the GLP-1 receptor agonist. This receptor is released by your gut after you eat to signal to your brain that you are full.

While semaglutide is less expensive, we have found that due to it only being one medication, increased side effects like nausea and malaise (basically feeling ill) were notable. We do not offer this medication as we do want to ensure that patients have a very pleasant experience on their weight-loss medication and nobody has time to manage or experience side effects.

Is Tirzepatide Better Than Semaglutide?

Research indicates that tirzepatide may lead to more substantial weight loss compared to semaglutide, although further comparative studies are necessary to confirm these findings. It’s important to note that individual responses to medications can vary, and semaglutide may be more effective for some people than tirzepatide.

In a 72-week study, participants receiving the maximum dose of tirzepatide lost an average of 21% of their body weight, while the placebo group experienced a 3% loss.

Similarly, studies on semaglutide have shown promising results. Overweight or obese participants who took semaglutide lost an average of 5.9% of their body weight after three months (13 weeks) and 10.9% after six months (26 weeks).

The more significant weight loss observed with tirzepatide may be attributed to its dual action on both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, whereas semaglutide targets only the GLP-1 receptor.

To schedule a weight loss consultation, simply go to here and click on Weight Loss Consultation. Your cost is $450 a month or $1200 for 3 months. Most patients will require 3-6 months to lose approx 10-15% of their body weight. We also offer Cherry Financing. See if you qualify here.

Questions? We’ve Got Answers:

Semaglutide and tirzepatide can be taken together if prescribed by your doctor. However, it is essential to follow the prescribed dosages and instructions carefully.
Semaglutide and tirzepatide are FDA-approved treatments for type 2 diabetes. While they work differently, both act as dual glucose-reducing incretin hormones, effectively lowering blood sugar and A1C levels.

In addition to regulating blood sugar levels, both tirzepatide and semaglutide have demonstrated significant weight loss benefits in clinical trials for people with type 2 diabetes. Tirzepatide is marketed under the brand name Zepbound, while semaglutide is marketed as Wegovy. These medications are effective in weight management due to their ability to reduce hunger, enhance feelings of fullness, and slow stomach emptying.

While some studies suggest tirzepatide may offer slightly greater effectiveness for weight loss, both medications, when coupled with lifestyle modifications, can aid individuals with type 2 diabetes in managing weight and glycemic control. The overall efficacy hinges on treatment adherence and individual circumstances.
