Technology is a tricky thing in the aesthetics business. Twenty years ago, I began my journey into the aesthetics world as a receptionist at a laser hair removal clinic in Raleigh, NC. I was 23 years old and had no clue what I wanted to be when I grew up. I’d graduated from the University of Illinois two years prior with a plan to go to law school but the idea of it seemed better than the reality. So, I took a job as a receptionist at a laser hair removal clinic (mostly because it was down the street from my apartment) and quickly moved up to managing nurses and aestheticians and educating all new patients. I reasoned that getting laser hair removal while I figured out what I wanted to do with my life wasn’t a bad gig.

Within months I learned that:

  1. I loved the burgeoning field of medical aesthetics
  2. Patient care was my jam and
  3. Investing in the best technology will result in happy patients

In order to demonstrate my knowledge on actual patients, I had to become a medical provider. So, I spent three years enrolled in biochemistry classes at NC State in order to pursue my Master’s at East Carolina University to become a PA. I then spent 7 years working in ENT and Facial Plastics on the North Shore of Boston under an amazing otolaryngologist and facial plastic surgeon because excellent anatomy knowledge is the best foundation you can have to go into aesthetics. When I was ready to move onto aesthetics full-time, I took a job in North Carolina at an aesthetics practice. I quickly learned that not every practice strives to provide the absolute best results utilizing the least expensive modalities to get amazing results. Too many practices and providers are more worried about milking their customers for as much money as they can and it really turned me off to the industry. That is when I vowed that one day I would provide an amazing experience to clients by keeping my overhead low so I could pass on the savings to my clients while utilizing my many years of experience to bring them safe and amazing results! This is how Soothe got its name!! Soothe your face, body & wallet!

For the past 6 months, I have been researching the latest and greatest technology in the business to help my patients with their sun damage, rosacea, acne, and overall skin rejuvenation. Inititally I was looking for a local place to refer my patients to but couldn’t find an amazing practice that really seemed to understand the importance of combining the best technology available with years of training to bring their patients excellent results at an affordable cost. So, after months of debate, I could not settle for anything less than a Sciton Hero BBL device!!!! BBL stands for Broad Band Light and with Sciton bringing the best engineers together in Palo Alto, CA to design amazing lasers, I had to bring Sciton to my patients for their sun damage, rosacea, acne, and even hair removal! Life has come full-circle and I feel like its 20 years ago all over again and I’m back to teaching clients about the importance of seeking out the best technology to get amazing results! Don’t settle for mediocre results-let Soothe show you what’s possible for your aesthetic needs!!

-Cheers & See You Soon,

Angela
